Mondays are usually seen as the worst days of the week, and on top of the aforementioned points, it can get too much for us at some points.
This Blue Monday, we want to ensure that everyone is heard and listened to. We want to stick the kettle on, have a nice warm tea and turn Blue Monday into Brew Monday.
Here are some helpful tips to help make Blue Monday a little less… well, Blue!
Have your Favourite Lunch
Monday mornings are usually the worst. The high from the weekend is met by an inbox of emails that you cleared the week before. By the time you’ve sifted through the emails, responded to necessary contacts, and got your weekly catch-up zoom meetings out the way, you feel like half the morning has gone and nothing has been achieved!
But, by having your favourite lunch, and having it planned before your day starts, it is a great way to keep you perked up through the morning, knowing you’ve got a treat waiting for you after a hard morning’s work.
It can be whatever you like! Pizza, an omelette, a marmite sandwich? But by knowing that it is waiting for you, it can put even the smallest of smiles on your face and really become a highlight.
Buddy up your lunch with a nice warm cup of tea and we think you can’t go wrong!
Participate in your Favourite Activity After Work
After work, you fall back onto your sofa to realise the evening is almost gone. You stop talking with your work colleagues, your kids may be running around full of energy, and you simply can’t keep up.
By having your favourite activity planned for after work it gives you something to power through the entire day, not just your morning!
This could be a movie you’ve wanted to stream, a physical activity you love doing, a hobby that has always taken your interest. Reward yourself for a great day’s work by indulging in this activity guilt-free. By giving yourself this ‘you’ time, you allow yourself to unwind, relax and go to your happy place.
If it can be partnered with a cup or mug of tea, well then that’s a double bonus!
Dress Up for a Confidence Boost!
Especially given the new shift into hybrid working, staying in your pyjamas all day is extremely tempting. But there is a danger to working in your loungewear; you don’t wake up! It is all too easy to be unforgiving to yourself when you aren’t fully awake.
By dressing with intent, showering, putting on your favourite perfume/aftershave, and by wearing what makes you feel confident, you intrinsically give yourself a boost. You walk around the house a little taller, you talk with purpose, and you smile sincerely.
Such a minor change that can really boost your mood! You know what else goes great with a whole lot of confidence? That’s right, another cup of tea! You can never have too many!
